About Me

Welcome to my Web Page(s)! I made this website after some web-friends on youtube encouraged me to get a site on the Net. I'm into just about anything technology-wise, really, and love making music. I also like to make jokes, surf the web, hang out with friends, OK this is starting to sound like a dating profile (I'm happily with a girlfriend, thank you).

I'm not a savant or anything remotely related. Lots of people make assumptions, but I'm normal and I also don't take myself (or music for that matter) too seriously. Some also assume I went to school for music but I actually went for a tech-related degree (networking, security). Musically speaking, I am completely self-taught but it was a slow process - I don't think I was "born to play" or anything but stuck with it. My actual training consists of a few piano lessons (I was a terrible piano student quickly went back to just playing) and one year of marching band during my senior year of  high-school. The band director, "Mac", was cool enough to just let me jam out my own parts on the keyboard. He tried his best to encourage me to read music but I always went back to playing by ear. Such a cool teacher and person - I'm thankful someone like him encouraged me so much despite me not having the "technical" capabilities he so wanted to teach.

I make videos to (hopefully) entertain, share my music, and encourage others to play even if they're just getting started. No matter where you plan to take your music, I think it's time well spent. Whether you're hammering out "Mary Had a Little Lamb" or something crazy complicated, music can and should be fun. It's such a constructive use of your time, even if you are doing simple stuff.

My first album has been released and the sales continue to surprise me! It's nowhere near platinum sales or anything, but hey, I'm independent and I make music for the fun of it. The album sales have allowed me to focus more time on music, which I'm thankful for. Huge thanks to those who have checked out my tunes either by buying my album, or just watching and commenting on my youtubes .

My Second CD: I've been working hard on album #2. It will be released in late July of 2009. Getting close! It's been a lot of fun so far coming up with ideas for the new CD. If it wasn't for youtube, I wouldn't have made these songs like they are. Something about performing in front of the camera has brought out some new ways for me to create and think about my music. This album will feature more "jams" than the last, and will be largely based on what you might have heard in a few videos like "throwing fire", "disorganized fun", and "messin with a guitar sound".

If someone has no way of paying for my music, or if it's "against their religion" to pay for anything digital (LOL), whatever the reason, I'd personally rather those people be able to enjoy my music rather than to not hear it at all.  I'm not going to give a tutorial on how to download torrents of my album (google it, it's simple stuff) but I'm also not going to hate on anyone that downloads my music or shares it with a friend. That said, I still think it's important to support the stuff you like whether that's software, music, whatever.

Bill Simmons ("The Sports Guy" from ESPN) has been a huge help to me. Mr. Simmons gave me some much-needed traction by giving me the opportunity to write the theme song for his podcast before I officially released my first album. Still can't thank him enough for that, but I'll certainly write him a new podcast theme if he ever needs one.

I think it's healthy to keep a balance between the Internet World and living life for real.. It allows me to just get on the webs and have fun..That's what my YouTubes are about. The fun stuff. So you won't find a buncha crazy personal posts here. Just the fun/music related stuff.

PS. I read ALL email and respond to as much as I can. These days, if I tried to respond to every single email, that's all I would do and my music would suffer. But I still devote a lot of time replying to as much email as I can. Love reading all your emails, even if I can't respond to each one. And if you have paid for my CD and need some help, check the help page and/or email me so I can help you ASAP. If you mention you need help in the subject, that will help me see it faster.
