No power!

We had a huge windstorm here in KY thanks to Ike. I love storms. Without any rain, it looked innocent enough until it knocked out power to the majority of people in this area and killed/injured a few poor folks. We haven't seen power outages like this since the mid-1970's when some huge tornadas hit. Still nothing compared to what some in TX are going through though. Gotta hook the red cross up with those donationz.

Anywho, I'm up late without power, using the WordPress app on the iPhone to write this. Hopefully we'll have power ASAP but they're saying it may be up to a week for some. Might have to seek out a coffee shop tomorrow so I can do some CD labeling/shipping.

While I'm at it, my long-time friend and fellow independent musician Brad released his second CD last week. His fans (me included) have waited 5 years for it. I'm digging it - it's solid. And I'm encouraged to see him complete it because albums are tough when you're pretty much doing all the work by yourself (he's a 1-man show too).

Update: 3 days later (9/17), we still have no power. LOL. Ice and D Batteries are hard to find at this point. This Coleman LED lantern is amazing though - still has a lot of life after 3 nights. Totally recommend it - just keep 8 D batteries handy.

Update: Power came back on Thursday. Awesomeness.

  • I'm so sorry to hear that mr. jenkees! I hope this doesn't affect the release of your second album which I and a lot of your other fans are highly anticipating.

I know it may sound greedy me sitting here in my air conditioned room nagging you about your next album, but it is seriously all i can think about. I loved your first album, i know your second one will just bring that great unpolished feel.

but i do hope you get your power back. and that those people in texas get their power back. and that your friend brad's album does well. and that the whales are saved. and that global warming is reversed. etc etc

  • That stinks man, well I hope you get your power back on soon I bet your itchin to get back to jamming in your free time take care and keep having fun with your music it seems that the more fun you have with the song in your videos the better the end product of it is. Peace

  • Hi Ronald,

Sorry to hear about the issues you guys are having with Ike. I bet Tina is running her butt off to get away (sorry, but some humor helps at a time like this). I'm VERY sorry hear about the poor folks who lost loved ones due to this massive storm. I'm sure everyone will agree that our thoughts and prayers are with everyone going through this tough time.

You best take care of yourself man and stay safe, and as always, stay crunchy!!

  • Hello! This is Wendy Harman from the American Red Cross. Hope your power is restored soon and that you're safe in the meantime.

Thank you for your donationz plug.

I just wanted to offer you a bunch of online tools you can use to help the survivors of all of the recent disasters:

    Take care of yourself.

  • Hey Ronald.-

I can't even express myself! You are really anable to touch my deepest feelings idside of me, you are amazing!

When can i by your newest cd?

    Keep up the good work.-

  • Aight ronald, good ur okay. Ike's been harsh.

  • Yeah, I live here in KY as well, and it was odd to see all the wind like a big storm with no rain.

  • Hey Ronald,

I'm sorry to hear about the power Issue, Hopefully you'll get that back soon! This is my First time posting here, i must say man listening to you and your beats really give me goosebumps! I've been playing music since i was 4 and can see that you have alot of talent and i hope you do well!

I'm also waiting to hear your second Album. Just from listening to your youtube videos i can its going to be great! Good luck and Have Fun!

  • WOW
    be strong !
without electricity is very hard (and it for WEEK)
BTW you better from the brad(my opinion)

  • Yeah that sucks. Here in northeast Ohio we lost power and 300k were without power. Still even today there are some still without power restored because of the wind that knocked all the trees in the area onto the power lines. Sorry and good luck on getting power back!

  • From the Netherlands.....

    Power failure sucks...
But I was just checkin' out your YouTube Page...
    Throwing Fire...
My mouth wide open and my chin on the ground...
    You're... fenominal! Incredible!
Soon as I heard your music, I wanted to use it for my showreel(personal, not commercial, don't worry, cuz I'd let ya know!).

Now I've heard alotta music, but this is INSANE!
Keep up the good work, you truely have a gift!
Can't wait to get my hands on your second album!
So when ya gonna put "Throwing Fire" on your download list?? :P

I work in the broadcast industry(3D animation & graphics), love to
make stuff inspired by and thru music. You just gave me the boost I needed.

    Inspiring... Creative... U Da Man!

    With Regards,

  • Hey Mr. Jenkees. I'm a fan from Cincinnati so I feel your "no power" pain. Its been rough here for a few days. Anyway how about a remix for Knight Rider's Theme or the Theme from Top Gun?? Just a thought. Keep makin music.

  • Power outages are about as fun as dusting furniture.

Keep riding on gold spinners, avoid the clutter, and stay crunchy. Get it? They're your song titles. I like to think I'm one of the sharper spoons in the drawer.

  • you are a great keyboardist. very gifted. but please do your career a favor, and do not rap. no hate, just constructive criticsm. peace.

  • Hey Ronald,

I was going to get on your case what with you promising a new CD "Late Summer" and what with there being but one day left of summer. (How's that for a sentence! English is my native language despite how it may seem)

But alas, mother nature had other plans...So i'll give you a couple more days for that next cd to come out!!

  • Hi ronald I have invited you to a site I know you will like because your a good person you just have to get in let me know what you think about it Your friend Alfred

  • Thank you very much for your musik!
    From Russia...

  • hey dude your album rocked!
just bought it off itunes cant wait for the next one!
clutter, loui, derty and rocky remix are absolutely amazing!

  • eh, as yet we can't control weather, and no one can be fully protected against natural force. but don't forget, that nothing happens accidentally.

once i saw your video on youtube and i was so amazed by your talent!
recently i've seen your album on our local torrent-tracker and immediately downloaded it. (there i've found ur website addrees later)
i suppose u've opened a new genre (and maybe era) of PC music, cuz i never heard better electro music than your. it's so beatifully and melodic, with part of improvisation, exactly that i like. it's really great! ...except RAP tracks. rap is close to pop-music (at least in our country), which i hate since the childhood. don't be angry, but i think ur music far won't do for rap. be original.

and, please, don't roll down to abyss named as showbiz!

    p.s. flstudio rulezzz ;)

  • It's no longer late summer, so is your second CD coming up very soon?

  • Hey Ronald!

I live right across the river from Louisville, and I was fortunate enough to get power back on Tuesday night. Some of my friends still didn't have it this past weekend!

Anyway, I'm so excited about your new album! My birthday was in August, and this is the only present I'm still waiting on. I can't wait :D

  • Hi Ronald

I hope there will be no hurricans or other storms near at your can work on on your new album. since i load it from your site last week, no other music runs in my home or my work.:-)

everyday i started my shift here in Saarstahl Steelworks with the youtube video "messin with a guitar" it becomes a ritual !!!
    its a good start :-)

iam using a korg triton and sometimes a friends motif for recording, but for the next 3 month i have too closed my homestudio for renovation...but then i started again makin music. youre inspiration get me hard working on the renovation.

so i still cant wait for gettin your next album across the big pond (god bless the internet)

go ahead and excuse my lousy english

    so long

  • Mr. Jenkees,

It is now past late summer.........I understand about the power outage, but if you need more time let us know!! We have know idea when this bombshell is going off! Your fans would like some feedback on your new album!! Are you halfway done? Almost done? Still mixing and finalizing? Well I don't know and either do your fans!! PLEASE do us a courtesy and tell us where you stand with your new album. Don't worry you still got mad props in my book, just getting a little anxious.

    Keep on Jammin!

  • Wasn't the power outage something else!?
I didn't have power here for four days in Louisville.
I thought it would NEVER come back on.
Luckily, I work somewhere that had generators.
Still, I kept taking those cold showers and sucking it up.

Anyways, It's great to see something so wonderful coming out of Kentucky. Keep up the hard work, you'll always have a fan in me.

  • JENKEES THE MAN!!! You will not believe this. I am a huge gamer and I went to youtube to see if any glitches where up so I went to the most random video and I hear this awesome techno, beat box, jazz like music and I go, "OMG this song is amazing. This is pretty much a must have song!" SOOOO, I go to the description of the video and there it is... Remix to a Remix by Ronald Jenkees. I copy and paste the name and fell in love with the song by listening to it over and over again 6 times in a row :D Then, on the right side where all the videos are, I see MORE music. I click on them and I just fell in love with the whole album. I get so excited that I search your name on youtube again and I clicked on one of your videos where your playing songs with the keyboard and stuff. I am AMAZED by the creativity you hold in you finger tips!! This is new generation music for crying out loud! WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD AREN'T YOU ALL OVER THE WORLD?!?!?!?!?!? Have you heard the crappy music they put on the radio these days? They may be good but they get worn out after listening to it 3 times max! Your music had impacted me in SSOOO many ways. For example, I'm listening to your music right now as im typing all of this. I listen to your music when im eating, working out, talking to people with one earplug in my ear, while I read, while im in the computer, AND EVEN WHILE IM WATCHING TV (YES, TV) also while im doing my homework. :) Also just want to throw this out there, I started playing the keyboard on January 22 of 2010 and Im still in the basics but thats why I admire you that much. The piano playing in your songs are the best part that I like about them. OH GOD it's like having an ORGASM!!! (im a boy by the way)!!!! Gold Spinners is MY FAVORITE SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the piano solo with the beat in the background and the jazz like type with the violins and the techno stuff is the most epic part about it!!! OH MAN I need to calm my self here. Here and now forever I will listen and tell everybody about your music. And please please please reply and I have one more question for you. If you dont want to answer thats fine by me but just hear me out... Can you.. give me the music sheet of the piano part for the Gold Spinners song?

Thank You for reading my emotions and keep doin' what you doin' :D

Respect from a Puerto Rican boy who lives in the US,
